Palm Springs Road

When I visited Palm Springs I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of amazing tasty places to eat.

Usually, aside from the occasional trip to McDonald’s overseas, I generally avoid eating at American Chain Restaurants. And if you’re like me, you’ll be pleased at not only the abundance of unique, eateries in Palm Springs, but at their price and quality.

Here are my top recommendations for places to eat.

1. Thai Smile

Stop number one is the unassuming Thai Smile Palm Springs. Towards the end of the main downtown strip rests this small, award-winning restaurant. With one of the best Thai meals I’ve ever had, it’s no surprise that every table was full at 10 P.M. at night!

2. Sherman’s Deli

Some of my friends raved about the Reuben at Sherman’s Deli, so I had to try it. Just off the main road, Sherman’s Deli is a mainstay of Palm Springs. I of course had the Reuben, which did not disappoint.

My only regret, not saving enough room for dessert. Teasing the eye and stomach as you enter, virtually every kind of cake, pie and baked confection is available. We wanted to return later in the week but our itinerary got the best of us. But I have a sneaking suspicion we’ll return to Palm Springs again soon.

3. Las Casuelas Terraza

In the heat of the day, nothing quenches your thirst like a giant margarita. And for the best in town, visit Las Casuelas Terraza.

Located at the far end of “restaurant row” along Palm Canyon Drive, you must make time to find a table outside, enjoy the band and quench your thirst with a frozen margarita (note, you don’t have to order your drinks to match your shirt)!

Misters run all day to keep you cool (as do most of the other Palm Springs restaurants). Food is authentic Mexican and the Pomegranate Margarita was spectacular. Best I’ve ever had – no joke.

This is why I travel!

4. Lulu California Bistro

One of the busiest restaurants, and with good reason, was Lulu California Bistro.

Whether inside or outside, this is the place to see and be seen in Palm Springs. Hip art and a trendy, but not pretentious vibe, combine with really delicious, fresh food at super affordable prices.

I could eat here every night of the week and still find something new!

The great variety and character of all the Palm Springs restaurants is reason enough to move here. Can you tell I’m in love with Palm Springs? But you don’t have to take my word for it.
