There are over 50 museums in San Francisco and if you’re going to be in the city on the first Tuesday of any given month, you’re in luck! It’s Free Museum Day in San Francisco!

Some of the city’s most popular museums offer free entrance or pay-what-you-can kind of deals.

Here is a list of some of my favourite museums to visit in San Fran and remember, just check online if you need any directions!

1. Moma (Museum Of Modern Arts)

Moma is one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary art in the United States – and a must for anyone with an interest in art.

2. Contemporary Jewish Museum

3. Yerba Buena Center For The Arts

Located in Yerba Buena Gardens, YBCA features visual art, performance, and film/video that celebrates local, national, and international artists.

4. Cartoon Art Museum

The Cartoon Art Museum is a California art museum that specializes in the art of comics and cartoons. It is the only museum in the Western United States dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of all forms of cartoon art.

5. Conservatory Of Flowers

Whether you’re a native San Franciscan, a visitor from another side of the world, or a classroom of budding botanists, the Conservatory of Flowers offers an intimate up-close experience with rare and endangered plants unlike any other.
